Loose Woman Hewson to Divorce

Ex-Coronation Street and Crossroads actress Sherrie Hewson is to divorce her husband after 28 years of marriage.

In July she told viewers of ITV1’s daytime talk show, Loose Women that her husband was “missing” and she hadn’t a clue where he’d gone. In an exclusive report in today’s Sunday Mirror (08/08/04) the news that he’s ran off with another woman has been revealed.

The Mirror states: ‘Sherrie, who recently joined the cast of Emmerdale as battleaxe Lesley Meredith, has tracked him down. But she was heartbroken to find out he has a new girlfriend and is not coming home. Sherrie has instructed lawyers to start divorce proceedings.’

Former Aerospace executive Ken moved to Spain three years ago to start up a boat charter company. He left wife Sherrie and their 19-year old daughter Keeley unaware of his new love interest, and hadn’t been in touch with them for over six months.

Sherrie is said to be very upset over the whole affair. The Mirror continued: ‘Two months ago Sherrie told reporters: “Some days I’m great, and others not so good. I veer from being really angry to very sad. I’m trying to look at the positives but I’m concerned for my daughter. I don’t want her to get hurt.”

A close friend of the 54-year-old actress said: “Ken left without any explanation and Sherrie had no idea where he was for a long time. She was very upset and found it hard to adjust to single life after 29 years.’
