Big Brother is watching, so you don't have to
Big Brother fans are once again set to be shafted after it emerged that there will not be a live feed this year.
Speaking to New Media Age, Channel 5 digital director James Tatam has said that Facebook will be the home for Big Brother news and video updates, implying there will be no 24/7 live feed which has always been at the forefront of Big Brother. Live feed was dropped in 2009, which prompted a successful online campaign to bring it for the final series which aired on Channel 4 last year.
Tatam also said that he is looking at other platforms, along with YouTube to house more video updates and a Twitter feed to bring fans the latest from the house. This latest news is likely to upset hardcore fans who enjoy watching footage on a live stream. Celebrity Big Brother is back in August, with the normal series to commence afterwards.
ATV Today contacted Channel 5 regarding the story although no one has replied by the time this article was published.
