David Essex to leave EastEnders
{jcomments on}A tabloid newspaper states that David Essex will bow out of EastEnders later this year.
The actor joined the cast of the BBC One soap earlier this year as Eddie Moon as EastEnders expanded the popular family further. Eddie arrived in Walford to visit his cousin Alfie (Shane Richie) and discovered his estranged son Michael (Steve John Shepherd) was also in Walford. The Moon family was extended even further when Eddie’s other sons Tyler (Tony Discipline) and Anthony (Matt Lapinskas) also arrived in Walford.
The Sun states that Essex is leaving EastEnders after only several months and will bow out later this year. The paper quotes the actor as saying “Being on EastEnders has been wonderful, challenging and intimidating and it does take over your life. But I’ve been blessed to work with wonderful actors. I’ve really enjoyed it and I’m pleased it went so well.” Essex added that bosses had left “the door ajar” for possible future appearances.
