Lock Up II to bring urban comtemporary art back to London

A host of stars are lined up to attend Lock Up II as a selection of urban comtemporary artists present their latest works.

Stars including Holly Willoughby, Boy George, Liam Howlett, Martin Kemp and members of Beady Eye are all lined up to enjoy the works by eight of the most prolific urban contemporary artists of a generation – Dan Baldwin, Pam Glew, Goldie, Chris Bracey, Mau Mau, K-Guy, Fin DAC and David Whittaker.

Their latest work is to be presented at Lock Up II, behind bars. The first Lock Up exhibition, which debuted in November 2009, was an instant success and featured work from Goldie, Nick Walker, Eelus and Jamie Reid alongside some of the names exhibiting in Lock Up II.

Fans and buyers flocked to the Central London based show, including Tracey Emin, Gemma Arterton, the Stone Roses’ Ian Brown and magician Dynamo.

Curator Eddie Lock and creative agency Death by Daylight will join forces once again to produce this much-anticipated exhibition at London’s Red Bull Studios. With the urban art sector’s popularity continuing to soar, Lock Up II will offer audiences the chance to view the work of some of the most renowned names on the scene, all in one location.

“Each of the eight exhibiting artists have acquired and explored their own set of unique styles, subject matter, materials and skill. Lock Up II will demonstrate the talent they have individually cast upon the contemporary urban art domains, in the UK and internationally.” organisers say.

The show runs from the 18th – 27th November 2011. Red Bull Studios, 155-171 Tooley Street, London SE1 2JP.
