Britain's Gay Footballers pulls in over 700,000 viewers

BBC ThreeBBC Three documentary Britain’s Gay Footballers pulled in over 700,000 viewers at 9pm last night.

The documentary explored the issues surrounding the fact that currently there are no openly gay professional footballers in the UK. The documentary was presented by Amal Fashanu, the niece of the only out footballer Justin Fashanu who committed suicide. The documentary examined the reasons why footballers are so reluctant to come out and claims that there are several bisexual and gay footballers in the closet. Overnight figures reveal the documentary was seen by 712,000 viewers at 9pm.

Elsewhere in terms of multi-channel ratings Spartacus: Vengeance returned to Sky One with just over 500,000 viewers while E4‘s teen drama Skins continued to struggle in the ratings with just 460,000 viewers.
