Amy Childs: TOWIE is 'set up' and 'staged'

Amy ChildsFormer The Only Way is Essex star Amy Childs has criticised the ITV2 series for being ‘a bit set up and staged’

Amy Childs left the ITV2 series after the second season to appear in Channel Five‘s revival of Celebrity Big Brother and later landed her own series on the broadcaster; It’s All About Amy. Childs’ exit from TOWIE led to other stars quitting such as Mark Wright and Harry Derbidge meaning producers had to bring in some new cast members to bump up numbers.

The new season of TOWIE is currently airing on ITV2 at the moment but has met with a mixed response from viewers. Amy Childs has now waded into the debate over what’s missing from the new series. The reality television star told Star magazine ‘The first series we were like: ‘Oh my God, we’re on telly,’ but now you know what’s going to happen. It’s all a bit set up and staged.’ Hardly a shocking revelation there. Only last week Childs was suggesting all the new TOWIE needed was ‘some vajazzling and fake tan’

In Star magazine Childs also discusses her axed series It’s All About Amy saying ‘My show was always only going to be an eight-part series. The truth is, I have some big things coming up, including two new TV shows, which have been confirmed, but I can’t talk about them now.’

Just to refresh your memories It’s All About Amy sank in the ratings without trace very quickly.
