Another new ratings low for General Hospital

General HospitalStruggling ABC soap General Hospital sank to a new ratings low for the second week in a row.

The medical soap is the last remaining series on ABC following the demise of One Live to Life and All My Children. General Hospital remains the lowest rated daytime soap in America and the fact it has sunk to another ratings low means its future isn’t bright – a future that is already under considerable doubt. For the week of the 13th to the 17th February General Hospital averaged 2.1 million viewers.

The Young and the Restless on CBS had 4.7 million viewers while sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful had 3.2 million viewers – an increase of nearly half a million viewers year-on-year the biggest gain of any soap. NBC soap Days of our Lives meanwhile had 2.4 million viewers.
