BBC One orders more Land Girls and The Indian Doctor

BBC OneBBC One has ordered a second series of The Indian Doctor and a third series of the war-time drama Land Girls.

The two daytime dramas has been renewed by Liam Keelan, the BBC’s controller of daytime. The renewals follow the announcement that Jimmy McGovern’s Moving On has also been renewed for a third season. The three renewals re-affirm the BBC’s commitment to daytime drama which has been given a boost in recent years.

The Indian Drama starred Sanjeev Bhaskar and Ayesha Dharker and aired on BBC One in November to good reviews and ratings. However, fans of the drama may have to wait a little while for the second series – possibly next year. Meanwhile World War Two drama Land Girls starred Raquel Cassidy, Mark Benton, Jo Woodcock and Susan Cookson.
