Gillian Taylforth joins The Bill cast
Gillian Taylforth has joined the cast of The Bill.
The former EastEnders actress has taken on the role of Sergeant Nikki Wright, a new regular in the ITV1 cop show.
Nikki is described as a latecomer to policing, but one whom has progressed through the ranks quickly. The character is also said to have an ‘extremely likeable personality’ which should hold her in good stead for making friends at Sun Hill.
“I’m very happy and excited. I really love the show and I’m looking forward to the first time I can officially say ‘You’re nicked!’” – Gillian Taylforth
Gillian is best known for her role as Walford’s Kathy Beale, she played salt-of-the-earth Kath for 15 years between 1985-2000. The BBC soap killed the character off off-screen last month much to the dismay of fans.
Gillian has also played the role of Jackie Pascoe in Footballers’ Wives since 2002. She will debut in The Bill later this year, sources note.
