No More Space Travel for the Doc

Russell T.Davies has confirmed that the Doctor won’t be having any more otherworld adventures. The producer claims that budget restrictions prevent the show from visiting other worlds.

Last season a two-parter, The Impossible Planet/Satan’s Pitt, visited a distant world where an ancient evil was about to awaken. But ratings for the two episodes were low and Davies believes the reason for this is fans were unconvinced by the story. However, critics and fans have hit out saying the story was one of the best in the season and the low ratings were due to hot weather.

The next classic monster to be revived for the series is tipped to be the Ice Warriors. A race from Mars that encountered the Doctor in his second and third incarnations.
