Waking The Dead And Silent Witness Return

Popular crime drama’s Waking The Dead and Silent Witness will return for a new run next year on BBC1, it’s been confirmed today. Waking The Dead stars Trevor Eve, Sue Johnston, Tara Fitzgerald, Wil Johnson and Felicity De Ju and will finish its current run – it’s seventh season – next week. Filming will begin on the eighth season, believed to be made up of five two-part stories, later in the year.

Silent Witness, which stars Emilia Fox, Tom Ward and William Gaminara, returns later this year for a six story run and will also return in 2009 for further episodes. Head of BBC Drama Series and Serials, Kate Harwood, said: “We are delighted to announce Waking The Dead and Silent Witness are set to return to BBC One in 2009 to grip audiences with more bold, original stories”
