New faces for Holby

Two new characters will join the cast of Holby City later this year. The new additions to the cast follow the announced departures of three other cast members.

 

Popular BBC drama series is set to welcome two new faces to its cast as the medical drama replaces the soon to depart Tom Chambers, Rakie Ayola and Adrian Edmonson. All three actors are to depart within the coming months after, all three, decided to quit their roles with the drama series. Tom Chambers is currently appearing in the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The new additions to the cast will be Ayesha Antoinie who will play Nurse Rachel Baptise and Anna Louise Plowman who will play Consultant Anaesthetist Annalese Spence, the wife of current character Michael Spence. Ayesha Antonie has previously appeared in Holby City, in a season seven episode. The actress also guest starred as Dee Dee Blasco in the Doctor Who episode Midnight, which aired earlier this year. Midnight also guest starred Rakie Ayola who is soon to leave the medical series. Other roles for Antonie include Grange Hill, the long running children’s drama that came to an end in September of this year.

New Zealand actress Anna Louise Plowman has also guest-starred in Doctor Who, appearing in a first season episode of the revived SF series. Other SF work includes appearances in Stargate SG-1 and the short lived series Seven Days. Plowman has also appeared in Cambridge Spies, Ultimate Force and Marple.
