More to come from Corrie Character?
Those hoping that they will soon see the last of Coronation Street character John Stape may be disappointed by the news that the character may yet return to the soap, possibly in the New Year.
Coronation Street character John Stape [Graeme Hawley] is set to bow out of the Manchester soap soon after his kidnap of Rosie Webster [Helen Flanagan] is revealed to all. But those hoping that will be the last they see of the character will be disappointed to hear the character may return next year. It’s not the first time the character has left in disgrace only to return later on, the character first bowed out earlier this year following the Christmas revelation of his affair with Rosie Webster. But his character returned over the summer to try and win back his ex-girlfriend Fiz Brown [Jennie McAlphine].
In an interview with the Inside Soap magazine actor John Hawley said, or maybe that should be warned, that John may return in early 2009. The actor speculates he may return for John’s trial for the kidnap of Rosie.
“His case will go to trial, so we’ll see what happens. There’s more of a story to tell with John because he’s not a typical villain – he’s a good person who did a very bad thing.
We’re tempted to say let’s just hope this is pure speculation but we’ll resist temptation and we’ll wait to see whether John Stape really does reappear in the New Year.
