‘Enders Wins NTA’s Four Years Running

EastEnders won Most Popular Serial Drama at the 2008 National Television Awards last night.

The show was broadcast live on ITV. As usual the cast spokesperson, Barbara Windsor – who plays Queen Vic Landlady Peggy Mitchell – praised all the soaps, despite the fact only EastEnders and Hollyoaks have been worthy of any awards this year.

“It’s a good feeling – it feels better than sex,” she told reporters. She also commented that “Hollyoaks is coming along, isn’t it?” and threw some support at the dire Emmerdale by branding it “great.” Er, I think you mean grates Babs.

Congratulations to the BBC and all the EastEnders crew.
