Holby City actress to depart

Actress Rakie Ayola is to leave Holby City later this year after three years in the role of Kyla Tyson.

It’s been announced that actress Rakie Ayola has decided to quit her role of Kyla Tyson in the long running BBC medical drama, Holby City. Ayola has played Nurse Kyla Tyson in the drama since early 2006 and has been involved in several big storylines including her battle with alcoholism and her son being taken into care. Her character has also been involved in an on/off relationship with Abra [Adrian Edmonson].

While Ayola has filmed her final scenes with the medical drama her character will remain on-screens until December, her departure will be tied in with the brief return of Abra [Adrian Edmonson].

Earlier this year Rakie Ayola took time out from filming Holby City to appear in the fourth season of Doctor Who. Ayola appeared in the episode Midnight as a character called The Hostess. The episode was more of a physiological thriller as passengers onboard a luxury cruiser were trapped onboard with an alien that could takeover bodies and steal voices. Also appearing in the episode was former EastEnders actress Lindsey Coulson, Lesley Sharp and David Troughton, son of Patrick Troughton.
