Sergeant quits Strictly

John Sergeant has decided to quit BBC One’s dancing contest Strictly Come Dancing;

Despite being a shit dancer and flop with the show’s judges, the former political correspondent has consistently been saved by the voting public.

On Saturday night’s show Sergeant was again was in the bottom two but the public voted to boot actress Cheryl Lunghi from the contest instead of Sergeant. It was the third week in the row that Sergeant had survived the public vote.

Today Sergeant announced he was withdrawing from the competition in the wake of this. Sergeant issued a statement regarding his withdrawal from the competition.

“I am sorry to say I have decided to leave Strictly Come Dancing. It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possible. The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far. I would like to thank Kristina and all those viewers who have been rooting for me through the series.” John Sergeant
