ITV has confirmed that its “glossy” medical drama, Harley Street, will not return for a second series.
ITV has finally confirmed that it has dropped its “glossy” medical series Harley Street and the series will not be returning for a second series. Harley Street aired on the channel during the summer but despite much hype from ITV surrounding the series audiences didn’t take too it and ratings were low. The series launched with just 3.9 million viewers but by the time it came to a close only 2.7 million viewers were watching the series.
Despite the low ratings and poor reviews there was some speculation that the series could return and Paul Nicholls, one of the actors in the show, said he felt the drama should get another series. However, it’s now been confirmed that the series would not be returning. Peter Fincham, ITV director of television, confirmed the axe to Media Guardian.
