BBC One logoFashion Babylon, a new drama series for the BBC, has been delayed because of script issues. Pre-production on the series was expected to begin shortly but scripts for the new series aren’t apparently ready and so the BBC has pushed back preproduction to January with filming now expected to take place in the Spring.

Fashion Babylon is set in the same universe as Hotel Babylon, the novel by Imogen Edwards-Jones which has been successfully adapted into a BBC television series. The BBC series will return next year for a fourth series. There are several other books in the Babylon franchise, or series, such as Air Babylon. Carnival, who make Hotel Babylon and are also behind Fashion Babylon, have the rights to produce the other books in the series. Delays to the series thought to be solely due to the script issues and not budget concerns.
