BBC announce New Egghead

The BBC announce who’ll be joining the Eggheads line-up on the popular BBC Two quiz show of the same name.

Barry Simmons from Leeds has been crowned the winner of BBC Two’s Are You An Egghead? Barry, whose previous quiz credentials include winning £64,000 on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and as a semi-finalist on Mastermind, has also represented England at quizzing and is a self-confessed quiz aficionado.

Are You An Egghead? was a nationwide search for a member of the British public fit to become a new Egghead on the teatime favourite. Barry will be joining the ultimate quiz team in the country and will take his seat alongside quiz legends Kevin Ashman, C.J. De Mooi, Daphne Fowler, Chris Hughes and Judith Keppel.

It certainly wasn’t easy for him though as some of the best brains in Britain were involved, but he is a worthy winner and I am looking forward to seeing Barry join our esteemed panel of intellectual goliaths on Eggheads.” Host Dermot Murnaghan

Barry joins the other Eggheads for the very first time later today (Tuesday 2 December) at 6.00pm on BBC Two.
