Sex show sparks complaints

C4 logoA morning educational series targeted at teens has sparked complaints after covering sex related issues.

Up to 100 people have complained to Channel Four following its daytime educational show KNTV covered sex related issues. KNTV, made by Tern Television, is targeted at 14 to 16 year olds and has covered topics such as contraception, STD’s, bisexuality and coming out but this has led to the wrath of some viewers. The series, which mixes animation and documentary footage, airs in a morning slot on Channel Four leading some viewers to complain.

“I cannot believe that C4 would put such a disturbing programme on the air at 11am. This programme is not teaching anything except that sex is something amazing that you should do – absolutely disgusting.” – One viewer’s complaint to Channel Four

Unfortunately for Channel Four it’s not the first sex educational programme to spark complaints this year. Earlier in the year the channel’s pre-watershed documentary series The Sex Education Show, sparked 209 complaints from viewers angry about the timeslot the series aired in.

It seems some viewers would prefer audiences to remain in ignorance about important issues relating to sex as they don’t want to watch such factual programmes because they can’t be bothered to reach for the remote and change the channel.
