New Doctor to be named

David TennantThe actor who will take over the role of the Doctor, from David Tennant, in 2010 will be named on Saturday, according to reports.

 

Reports claim that the 11th person to take on the role of the Doctor, on television, will be named tomorrow [Saturday] during an episode of Doctor Who Confidential, a behind the scenes look at logoDoctor Who. The episode will air on BBC One, instead of its usual BBC Three home, and will air at 5.35pm. David Tennant confirmed in October that he’ll only play the role of the Doctor for this year’ specials and will not return for the fifth season of the show, which will air next year. After Tennant’s announcement a number of actors were tipped for the role by the tabloid press with Paterson Joseph, James Nesbit, John Simm, David Morrissey and Robert Carlyle amongst some of those named in the press.
