Dave revives Red Dwarf
Digital channel Dave is to revive cult comedy series Red Dwarf for two special episodes at Easter.
Digital channel Dave, part of the UKTV Network, is to bring back Red Dwarf for two special episodes which will see the characters finally return to Earth, the episodes will air during Easter. The two episodes will be written by the series co-creator Doug Naylor and will reunite the series stars such as Craig Charles, who is currently appearing in Coronation Street.
The original series of Red Dwarf launched 21 years ago and was a hit with viewers, becoming a cult classic in its own right. The series ran on BBC Two for eight seasons between 1988 and 1999 and even won an International Emmy award and was watched by over eight million viewers at its peak. The series has sold well on DVD and video, marking its continual popularity, and repeated numerous times on different channels. Following the two specials on Dave they’ll be a behind-the-scenes look at the making of them with interviews with cast and crew.
