Former Crossroads actress joins Murder Series
Actress Belinda Everett, who appeared in ITV’s revival of Crossroads in 2002, will join the cast of ITV’s drama series Blue Murder when it returns for a fifth season later this year.
ITV has released details of the forthcoming fifth season of Blue Murder which stars Caroline Quentin and former Casualty actor Ian Kelsey.
Joining the cast of the fifth season is former Crossroads actress Belinda Everett who played environmental activist Jaz Williams in the 2000s Carlton revival of the soap. Jaz was opposed to plans to build houses of woodland which was part of the Hotel and teamed up with Nicola Russell [Julia Burchell], daughter of Hotel manager Kate [Jane Gurnett] to try and stop the planned building.
As well as appearing in Crossroads in 2002 the actress has also had roles in Emmerdale, EastEnders, Holby City, Doctors and The Bill. Interestingly another former Crossroads actress was amongst the cast of the series, Rhea Bailey, who played DC Lisa Goodall in Blue Murder before joining the cast of The Bill.
As well as confirming the regular cast for the series ITV have also revealed details of guest-stars for the fifth season which include Tina O’Brien in her first television role since quitting Coronation Street in 2008.
O’Brien will play murder suspect Amy Kirkland in the fourth episode of the season. Other guest stars in the series will be Sylvia Sims, Brendan Coyle, Anthony Flanagan, Mark Benton and Chris Coghill who recently completed a stint in EastEnders.
