Dales Line Producer to retire

YTVLong serving Line Producer on Emmerdale, Timothy J Fee, will retire from his production role on the ITV soap on his 60th birthday, at the end of March.

YTVMr Timothy J Fee, the inestimable Line Producer for Emmerdale will be retiring on his 60th birthday at the end of March. During his ‘stint’ on Emmerdale, that started in 1988 (that’s about 3900 programmes ago) he has overseen the building of a brand new village, taken the programme from 2 to 5 and then 6 episodes per week, supervised house collapses, plane crashes and conducted more VIP tours than a guide at Harewood.

After a couple of jaunts with the English National Ballet and Ballet International, Tim settled into his TV Career in 1976 and prior to joining Emmerdale was responsible for some of the largest YTV Drama Productions. The world of production has changed significantly over the years but Tim has lost none of his passion for making the best possible programmes.

One lesser known fact about Tim (and he’s far too self-effacing to go on about it himself) is the leading role he’s played in Emmerdale’s charitable activities. Cricket matches, Golf classics, plane walks – you name it, he’s thought of it – and in doing so has helped raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for various well deserving causes over the years.

I doubt you’ll find anyone who has been more dedicated, committed and passionate about a programme than Tim, and we, but Emmerdale in particular, will all miss that. A search for Mr Fee’s successor will begin shortly.
