Edmonds to Quit Sky?

Presenter Noel Edmonds is threatening to quit his Sky One show, Noel’s HQ, because a repeat of the episode was edited.

Noel Edmonds and Sky are locked in last-minute discussions, according to reports, after Edmonds threatened to quit presenting his Sky One show, Noel’s HQ. The presenter made the threats after discovering a repeat of last Saturday’s episode was edited for broadcast on the Sunday, reports claim. The live Saturday edition of the show featured an item on a British soldier who had been disabled during fighting in Afghanistan and his battle with his local council to get accommodation. Parts of the feature were reportedly cut for the repeat the following night on Sky Two leading Edmonds to threaten to quit the show over the cuts.

According to reports the cuts in all totalled 20 seconds and removed two incidences where a council press officer was named. Sky One declined to comment to Media Guardian over whether the cuts were made due to fears about Ofcom regulations. A spokersperson for Sky also told Media Guardian that a second series has yet to be commissioned. Edmonds is believed to be seeking assurances that they’ll be no more editorial interference in the future.
