Morgan’s Life Stories See’s Strong Launch

The first episode of ITV’s new chat-show, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, started off well last night but was beaten in the ratings by BBC News.

ITV’s latest attempt at finding a successful chat-show got off to a good start last night with 4.5 million viewers watching Piers Morgan interview former X-Factor judge Sharon Osbourne – who herself had an chat-show on ITV which was something of a flop. While the figure is a good start for ITV it wasn’t quite enough to top a news bulletin on BBC One which attracted nearly five million viewers. However, when the news bulletin ended the chat-show had the better of BBC One.

Earlier in the evening Dancing on Ice pulled in 9.1 million for its first show and 8.3 million for its result show. Drama Wild at Heart continued to enjoy good ratings with 7.6 million viewers tuning in. On BBC One Antiques Roadshow saw 6.3 million viewers watch while Lark Rise to Candleford attracted 5.8 million viewers.
