Meera Syal for Holby?

bbcA tabloid newspaper claims that actress, comedian and writer Meera Syal is to join the cast of BBC One’s medical drama, Holby City.

BBCTabloid newspaper The Mirror claims that Meera Syal is to join the cast of Holby City later this year. The actress is familiar face to TV audiences thanks to her various and varied roles on sketch show Goodness Gracious Me and chat-show The Kumars At No 42. The paper claims Syal will play a Doctor in the medical drama and will join the cast during the Summer.

“She will play a doctor called Tara Sodi who is a bit of a prickly character. When she arrives at Holby General, it won’t be long before she rubs a few of the other doctors up the wrong way.” – A source talking to The Mirror

Most recently the actress appeared in the BBC Two comedy series Beautiful People but amongst her more serious roles the actress has guest-starred in Bad Girls, The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard, Kingdom and Linda Green. Syal had main roles in Jekyll, by writer Steven Moffat, and The Bill spin-off series Murder Investigation Team.
