Corrie actors to try their luck in America?
Tabloid reports claim that three Coronation Street actors are hoping to secure roles in Hollywood.
Tabloid reports that three Coronation Street actors are hoping to break into Hollywood despite having signed new contracts with the ITV soap. According to The Sun Antony Cotton, Katherine Kelly and Kym Marsh are all hoping to break into the American industry with Cotton and Kelly appearantly flying over to Los Angeles to audition for potential roles. Meanwhile it’s been rumoured that Kym Marsh will not renew her contract with the soap, when it expires next year, and will follow her boyfriend James Lomas, of Hollyoaks, to America.
Antony Cotton and Katherine Kelly recently extended their contracts with the Manchester based soaps but despite signing up for longer both actors are, according to the tabloids, hoping to secure roles in America. It’s expected that any American roles would be worked around filming for Coronation Street. Antony Cotton has already fitted work around his filming schedule for the soap having presented his own chat-show on ITV1, which was a big flop. The chat-show was axed but Cotton was said to be in talks with ITV over further projects – none of which have yet materialized. According to The Sun Cotton confirmed that “L.A beckons”
The actors may be hoping to follow in the footsteps of other actors who have been cast in American dramas this year. So far the big pilot season in America is staffed with British actors such as Christina Cole, Louise Lombard and Indira Varma all securing roles in pilots for the American television.
