Ex Enders actors for Casualty Roles

Anita Dobson, who played Angie Watts in EastEnders, will play a psychic Cora in the medical drama. The actress previously appeared in Casualty in 2000 and has also guest-starred in sister-drama Holby City, in 2003.

The second former Enders actor to guest in Casualty will be Joel Beckett who played Jake Moon between 2004 and 2006 will guest-star as an expectant father, Jim. Jim is buying his way into parenthood by using a surrogate mother. But in typical Casualty style there are complications with the birth of the surrogate children leaving the biological mother in doubt over whether or not she wants to hand over her children.

And the final former Enders actor to appear in the medical soap will be Gillian Taylforth who, of course, played Kathy Beale in the London based-soap. More recently the actress played Sergeant Nikki Wright for several years in The Bill. Taylforth will play the character of Gina in Casualty, a mother who tries to reunite her family. As with Anita Dobson it’s not the first time Taylforth has guested on Casualty. In 2002 she appeared in two episodes as MP Justine Walker who demands answers when she suffers bereavement at the hospital.

And it’s also been announced that former political correspondent John Sergeant, better known now for his lack of dance skills, will cameo in Casualty as himself. In an episode due to air in early May Sergeant will have a cameo role when he is one of the journalists outside the hospital when it’s learnt the local MP is being treated there.
