Bardon To Make Further Enders Appearances?

EastEnders legend June Brown has hinted that John Bardon who plays her on screen husband Jim Branning in the soap will soon appear in more episodes of the show from June.
The star who was recently nominated for a BAFTA told The Mirror that John will be back in June and is improving all the time.

“You just keep all your fingers crossed that Jim will be back. He won’t be grumpy and he will talk as much as he can.” she told the paper.

Bardon suffered a stroke in spring 2007 and was written out of storylines in the BBC1 soap in the summer of that year – the writers devised a plot which saw Jim go away to look after his daughter Carol who was ill – but viewers later learnt that Jim had suffered a stroke whilst away. Bardon returned to his role as Jim Branning for a special episode in August 2008 when Jim returned home to Walford to celebrate his birthday.
He made a further appearance in early December when son Jack visited him at the care home he’s staying in before later being seen again in the two christmas episodes when he came home to spend christmas with Dot.
The news comes after the recent announcement that bosses on the BBC1 soap are to slash the airtime of veteran June Brown [Jim’s wife Dot] to cut costs.
