More Hollyoaks Later

The late-night version of teen-soap Hollyoaks is set to return later this year for another five-part run.

Hollyoaks Later, a late-night spin-off from the popular teen-soap, will return later this year for a second five-part run. It is the first spin-off from the Channel Four soap to be re-commissioned for a second season. Last year’s first season, of five episodes aired across a week, proved to be a ratings hit for E4. The episodes saw the brief return of Guy Bennett as Craig Dean and the killing-off of bad boy Nial Rafferty [Barry Sloane]. The episodes also saw a lesbian kiss between the characters of Sarah Barnes [Loui Batley] and Zoe Carpenter [Zoe Lister].

The second five-part run of Hollyoaks Later will air around September and will be produced by Bryan Kirkwood who stepped down as producer of Hollyoaks at the start of the year. His replacement, Lucy Allan, produced the first series of the late-night spin-off. As yet there are no details on storylines for the second series or which characters will feature.
