Emmerdale Axe Tittensor Following Assault Charge

Emmerdale star Luke Tittensor who plays Daz Eden in the ITV1 soap has been axed after pleading guilty to an assault charge.
Following talks with show bosses, the decision has been made to terminate the 19-year-old’s contract due to the serious nature of the charge.

Tittensor admitted to inflicting grevious bodily harm on a 16-year-old in an incident which took place in Rochdale back in February. The teenager attacked by Tittensor suffered a broken jaw and was forced to undergo corrective surgery.

Speaking of the decision to axe the young actor, a spokesperson for Emmerdale said “As Luke has pleaded guilty to the serious charge of GBH and we cannot condone criminal behaviour, we have met with Luke and his agent to explain that his contract with Emmerdale will be terminated. Luke regrets his behaviour and understands this situation.”

Tittensor faces sentencing next Wednesday and could face a jail term of up to five years for the assault if found guilty.

Emmerdale bosses devised a storyline to write Tittensor out of the soap earlier this year following the assault and he will make his final on screen appearance in this Friday’s episode.
