Tonight forced to cut budgets
ITV1’s current affairs programme Tonight has once again been forced to cut its production budget as ITV struggles to rein in costs.
ITV1’s current affairs programme Tonight is once again having its budget slashed just six months after a previous cut in the show’s budget. According to reports ITV want the programme to cut a further 15% from its budget. The current affairs programme was renewed for a further six months by ITV but only on the condition that 15% be cut from its costs.
Six months ago 20% was cut and 12 people who worked on the series, which is based in London and Manchester, were made redundant. It’s expected that with yet another cut in budget there’ll be several more redundancies.
