EastEnders actor signs new contract

EastEnders actor Jake Wood, who plays the ever scheming Max Branning, has signed a new contract with the BBC soap.

Actor Jake Wood will remain in EastEnders for a further two years after a signing a new contract with the BBC soap – according to The Mirror. The actor will continue to play the scheming Max Branning for another two years in which time he’ll doubtless scheme and plot to get back together with wife Tanya Branning – but will he manage it?

“He believes Tanya still loves him. I think she does too.” – Jake Wood quoted in The Mirror

When Max and Tanya Branning moved into Albert Square in 2006 it was to give their marriage one final chance after Max once again cheated on Tanya with another woman. However, it wasn’t long before Max’s womanising ways returned and he and Stacey Slater, his son’s girlfriend, were having an affair. Their affair was revealed on Christmas Day 2007 and nearly tore apart the Branning family. The repercussions of it saw Tanya bury her husband alive, with a little help from Sean Slater, and then earlier this year Lauren Branning, Max’s daughter, stole a car and ran him over!
