Lyn Robinson to return to Ramsay Street

Actress Janet Andrewartha is to reprise her role of Lyn Robinson in Australian soap Neighbours.

Former Neighbours actress Janet Andrewartha is set to head back to Ramsay Street as Lyn Robinson for a three-month stint. Janet Andrewartha originally joined the Aussie soap in 1999 when Lyn and the rest of her family, the Scully’s, moved into the Martin’s old house on Ramsay Street. Over the next several years the Scullys were at the centre of several big storylines as was Lyn who eventually departed in 2006 after marrying local dodgy businessman Paul Robinson.

Since Janet Andrewartha left the soap in 2006 the actress has reprised her role on one occasion but is set to return to the soap once more. The actress has already begun filming on the soap and will appear on screen later this year. Several weeks ago it was announced by producers that the soap would go “back to its roots” and concentrate on families and characters rather than controversial storylines although an upcoming lesbian plot is sure to draw heavy fire from conservatives in Australia. A similar plot in Home and Away has come under heavy criticism from Christian groups in the country.

In the UK Neighbours airs on Five who have recently started a new advertising campaign for the Aussie soap featuring posters of current characters with the caption “Kylie Who?” in big letters.
