More Hole In The Wall for BBC One

Hole In The Wall has been re-commissioned for a second series by BBC One.

“I am really excited that Hole In The Wall is returning to the BBC this autumn. And, of course, I am completely thrilled that I will be presenting the series, my only disappointment is that I won’t be wearing the silver suit this time round… although you never know!” – Anton Du Beke

The second series, produced for the Beeb by Thames Television, will have ten episodes, plus a one-off compilation show, and will air on BBC One later in the year. The knock about game show, that proved such a popular hit with all the family last year, will be presented by former team captain and Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke. Anton takes over from happy chappy Dale Winton.

Joining Anton, and new to the show, are team captains, former I’m A Celebrity winner Joe Swash and Austin Healey, who will bravely don the now-famous silver Lycra suit and head up a team of two well-known names, in a competition to see who gets through the ‘hole in the wall’. The show, which originated in Japan, and averaged 6.1 million viewers last series on BBC One, sees celebrities try to force themselves through the various holes in the wall or they’ll end up head first in the water.

But for the celebrities taking part it’s not the fear of the water and the chance of ruining their hair and make-up that scares them most – it’s having to do it whilst wearing a very tight shiny Lycra all-in-one number! Each week it will be up to the team captains, Joe and Austin, to guide their teams through holes of differing shapes and sizes, always ensuring they keep their eyes on the wall.

Throughout the show the wall shapes will get harder and come faster and the competition between our team captains will get stronger and the stakes higher as only the winning team can walk away with £10,000 prize money for the charity of their choice.

“Hole In The Wall became such a huge hit last year, everyone is still talking about it. It is a great show to make and we are really looking forward to upping the fun and humour with our new host Anton and celebrity team captains Joe and Austin.” – Suzy Lamb, Executive Producer at Talkback Thames

Hole In The Wall will be filmed at BBC Pacific Quay, Glasgow and is just one of a number of programming recently announced that is to be produced North of the border.
