Remembering Mollie Sugden

We’ve dug around in the ATV Network photo archive for a picture tribute to the great comedy performer, Mollie Sugden who died yesterday.

Let’s take a look back at Mollie’s finest television moments, from Coronation Street to Are You Being Served? and even an encounter with a motel smoothie.

Lost sitcom, David Croft’s Tyne Tees TV production Under New Management, which saw Mollie as a landlady of a North East boozer.

From one pub to another, Mollie with Doris Speed, landladies of Weatherfield; Nellie of the Laughing Donkey and Annie of the Rovers Return.

Mollie also featured in Granada sitcom Bootsie and Snudge, a spin-off from comedy The Army Game.

Are You Being Served? ran from 1972 until 1985.

The series set in the fictional London department store, Grace Brothers.

Mrs Slocombe was often worried about her pussy.

In the 1990s an Are You Being Served? spin-off ran for two series, Grace and Favour. Now set in a country hotel.

From one hotel to another, Mollie meets Crossroads’ Adam Chance, aka Tony Adams at a publicity event.

Also over on ITV Mollie starred in That’s My Boy from Yorkshire Television.
