A contestant on this year’s series of The X-Factor reveals to a tabloid that he is bisexual. Danyl Johnston revealed his bisexuality to Sunday tabloid, The News of the World. X-Factor viewers saw Danyl’s audition on Saturday’s opening instalment of the latest series and won praise from all the judges including Simon Cowell who called his audition ‘the best first audition I’ve ever heard’.
“I am a massive flirt. I wouldn’t rule out someone just because of their gender. I haven’t been in that many relationships, only about four. It’s been a year since I was last with someone – that’s horrible! I hate boxes, so I don’t like to call myself gay, straight or bisexual. But yeah, I’ll admit that I have dated men” – Danyl Johnston in The News of the World.
The singer is tipped to win the contest by some but with only one show over it’s probably too early to tip anyone to win the contest. The series returned to nearly ten million viewers but its revamped format has drawn criticism from fans of the series who do not like the similarities in the auditioning process to fellow reality series, Britain’s Got Talent. Johnston isn’t the only singer to reveal, recently, his bisexuality to the News of the World. Duncan James, singer with boy band Blue, revealed earlier this summer he was bisexual and had been in relationships with men.
