Arlene in talks with Sky
According to a tabloid newspaper axed Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips is in talks with Sky One to join their new dance series, Let’s Dance.
The Mirror is claiming that Sky One are in talks with axed Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips as the broadcaster tries to secure her for their new dance series. Sky One announced yesterday there new series Let’s Dance, which will be fronted by Davina McCall and auditions for the series will begin in January. Although Phillips has been axed from the judging panel of Strictly she will still be part of the series, choreographing various dance routines for the celebrity contestants and their dancing partners. She’s also expected to be appearing on The One Show as the magazine series’ expert on the dancing competition.
Aside from Strictly Come Dancing Phillips was also a judge on Dance X which aired on BBC One in 2007 and also part of this year’s Eurovision’s Your Country Needs You. Less of a success was her part on Britannia High for which she was an executive producer. The ITV teen-drama series was set in an acting/musical school and the broadcaster had high hopes for the success of the series planning tie-in tours and merchandise but the series was a ratings and critically acclaim.
