Gossip Girl returns in October

 

Warner BrothersThe third series of American teen-drama series Gossip Girl will air on ITV2 from this October just weeks after its stateside premier.

 

Warner BrothersThe much anticipated third series of Gossip Girl will be premiered in the UK on ITV2 next month, Zai Bennett, ITV’s Director of Channels and Acquisitions announced today.  The international hit series about the social lives of fast living and wealthy students in New York starring Chace Crawford and British actor Ed Westwick, will launch on October 7th at 8pm. Hilary Duff will guest star in some of the new episodes and while high school may be behind our beloved and grown up socialites, a future of love, jealousy, scandal and secrets awaits them at university.

Warner BrothersThe drama is told through the eyes of an all-knowing blogger — Gossip Girl — who, via constant, avidly read text messages, is determined to uncover and fuel every scandal possible on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where gossip rules, and affluent young people find themselves with the money, access and appetite to explore all the temptations New York City has to offer. Keeping track of the shifting friendships, jealousies and turmoil in this wealthy and complex world isn’t easy; that’s why there’s Gossip Girl.

Filmed in New York and based upon the book by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl, was developed by Josh Schwartz (Chuck, The O.C.) & Stephanie Savage (The O.C., Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle). The series is executive produced by Schwartz, Savage, Leslie Morgenstein (Privileged, The Vampire Diaries), Bob Levy (Privileged, The Vampire Diaries) and John Stephens (The O.C., Gilmore Girls).
