Little Dorrit a big winner at Emmy Awards
BBC One’s adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel Little Dorrit has proved to be a hit winner at this year’s Emmy Awards with the period drama collecting seven awards.
BBC One’s Little Dorrit, an adaptation of the novel by Charles Dickens, was a big winner at this year’s Emmy Awards. The period drama picked up a total of seven awards including Outstanding Mini-Series. The drama also picked the awards for best writing and direction along with costumes and cinematography.
The drama series aired on BBC One last year in the same format as Bleak House – the adaptation was stripped across a number of episodes that aired weekly in the style of a soap. Although Little Dorrit wasn’t as successful ratings wise as Bleak House the series was still widely praised by critics and attracted a large number of ‘household’ names to it.
