BBC1 re-comissions Caroline Quentin sitcom

Caroline Quentin reprises her role as multi-tasking mother Maddy Riley in the return of BBC One sitcom Life Of Riley, co-starring Neil Dudgeon as her bemused husband Jim.

Maddy is still trying to be all things to all people within her complicated, extended family circle of children, step-children, step-siblings and half-siblings – with a few ex-partners and in-laws thrown in for good measure.

Struggling to be a nurturing mother, caring wife and competent human being, she throws herself with gusto into the daily maelstrom that is modern-day family life, finding that parenting has never been more difficult or complicated – and that she’s as valiantly ill-equipped as ever to deal with it.

Life Of Riley is written by Georgia Pritchett (Smack The Pony, Feel The Force) and directed and produced by Richard Boden (The IT Crowd, Blackadder Goes Forth).

The executive producers are Catherine Bailey and Rebecca Papworth and Jon Rolph for BBC Scotland.

A Catherine Bailey Limited production for BBC Scotland.

The second series of Life Of Riley will comprise of six x30 minute episodes. The new seires is currently in production for transmission early next year.
