Emily Symons Returns To Home and Away

Emily Symons is to reprise her Home And Away alter ego more than a decade after quitting Summer Bay. Symons is back in Sydney and returns to the soap as the iconic Marilyn Chambers, the character she left in 1997 to pursue work in Britain.
“I’ve been back since last October, reacquainting myself with family and friends and this beautiful city,” she said. “It was a family decision to come back.” After leaving, Symons found fame on UK television’s Emmerdale as barmaid Louise Appleton for eight years.
“I loved it, but you know, that’s a long time and I was tired by the time I left, I loved the chance to get to know northern England (Emmerdale is set and filmed in Yorkshire) but yeah, I was tired and a bit worn out after eight years and we didn’t get too many production breaks.” – said Symons.
Symons said she was thankful to be back among the familiar faces of Ray Meagher and Lynne McGranger, whom she worked with previously and who have remained at Home And Away.
