CWWith the conclusion of the ‘Who Killed Sydney’ storyline actors Ashley Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield will leave teen-drama series Melrose Place. The storyline is due to conclude early next year and with the conclusion of the murder mystery storyline the revived drama will take on a slightly lighter, more fun, tone. The series will also introduce several new characters and then will see the highly anticipated return of original Melrose Place actress Heather Locklear.

Since Melrose Place was revived by broadcaster The CW earlier this year the drama has been struggling in the ratings. It has not been the huge success the broadcaster was hoping and rates lower than fellow revived series 90210. However, despite the low ratings The CW has ordered five more episodes of the series – although an order for nine episodes would have been the norm at this stage. The return of Heather Locklear however, might boost ratings enough for CW to order additional episodes.
