Whedon reacts to Dollhouse Hiatus
Creator and writer of Dollhouse, Joss Whedon, has posted on a website his reaction to the news that Dollhouse will go on hiatus during November.
Joss Whedon, creator and writer of Fox series Dollhouse, has posted on a website his reaction to the news that Fox will yank his series off the air during November. The news that Dollhouse will disappear during the November sweeps, but return in December, broke earlier this week. It was widely seen by many within the industry as a sign that Fox had lost faith in the series and wouldn’t renew it once all the episodes had aired – however, the series has been written off before and came back from the ‘dead’ to surprise everyone.
Here’s what Joss Whedon had to say on the Whedonesque website.
“Howzabout that schedule? Well, I’m not as depressed as everyone else. We weren’t about to rock sweeps anyway, and though there’s a chilly November, December is CRAZY. It’s like an Advent calendar of episodes! We get November to try to spread the word (which I’ll be leaning on Fox to do, though it’s hard to imagine them doing as good a job as the WhyIWatch guy) and then December is pure gluttony. Plus the episodes line up extremely well in these pairs, and we’ll have an absurdly appropriate lead-in. Back to breaking Tim’s [Minear] episode.
Keep the faith, peeps. I’ll bring you news (and hopefully a little humor, I mean would it kill me to punch these up a little?) when I can. -j joss” – Joss Whedon posting on the Whedonesque site.
In the UK Dollhouse airs on the British version of the Sci Fi Channel which can be found on Sky Channel 129 or Virgin Media Channel 135.
