Braeden to stay on at The Young and the Restless

Despite wide spread speculation that actor Eric Braeden would leave CBS soap The Young and the Restless the actor has signed a new contract with the soap to continue playing the role of Victor Newman.

 

CBSIt was widely speculated that actor Eric Braeden would be leaving CBS soap The Young and the Restless after a dispute with producers over his contract. Eric Braeden plays fan favourite Victor Newman on the top rated soap and news that his character would be written out of the series prompted much anger from fans – with some even threatening to boycott the series. It was widely reported that Braeden would make his final on-air appearance on November 2nd – just two weeks away. 

However, despite the many stories in the press reporting Braden’s departure from The Young and the Restless it’s been announced that the actor will remain with the series. A deal has been reached between the two sides, although details are not being made public, which will see the actor continue in the role. The actor first appeared in the soap in 1980 and has become a firm favourite amongst fans. Although his character of Victor Newman will bow out from The Young and the Restless on November 2nd, as originally planned, he will return at a later date much to relief of his fans.
