Waterloo Road returns with 5 Million

BBC One’s school drama Waterloo Road returned on Wednesday evening with a comfortable 5 million viewers but it wasn’t enough to see off tough competition in the form of a new episode of Midsomer Murders on ITV1.

ITVBBC One’s Waterloo Road returned on Wednesday evening with its fifth season with 5 million viewers – a comfortable figure. The new series of the school based drama has seen an influx of new characters join the series with former Holby City actor Tom Chambers heading up the newer cast members. However, while 5 million was a good comfortable figure for the series it wasn’t enough to see off tough competition in the form of Midsomer Murders on ITV1. A new episode of the drama starring John Nettles was seen by 6.3 million viewers.
