Now that all five episodes of ITV’s ‘stripped’ drama Collision have aired we take a look back at the ratings for the drama.

The broadcaster had big hopes for the drama and it certainly had an all-star cast led by Douglas Henshall, Phil Davis and Paul McCann but did the ratings meet expectations?

 

ITVWell Monday’s opening episode certainly had the viewers interested because 7.5 million viewers tuned in according to overnight figures. The episode peaked at 8.1 million but dropped of to 6.8 million by the last fifteen minutes of the opening instalment. Tuesday’s second episode did see a drop in viewers with over 1 million viewers deciding not to return to see how the drama would play out. The episode was seen by 6.3 million viewers, still a good healthy figure for an ITV drama.

  

ITVOn Wednesday evening the third part saw another drop in ratings this time with 6 million viewers watching. The episode was however, up against BBC One’s popular spy drama Spooks which came off worse during the clash with 4.5 million viewers tuning in – showing audiences had opted for Collision instead. The penultimate episode on Thursday saw a rise in ratings after two episodes of falls. Ratings for the fourth part rose to 6.5 million – half a million up on Wednesday’s figures. The fifth and final part on Friday evening saw 6.4 million viewers return to see the conclusion. A drop of 100,000 from Thursday evening and 1 million less than Monday’s opening instalment.
