Former Hollyoaks and Night and Day actor Stuart Manning is the latest celebrity to be evicted from the ITV reality series I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

In Night and Day he played wannabe footballer Sam Armstrong and featured in some of the soaps more nutty plots. The role won him the  ‘Hero Of The Year’ at the British Soap Awards in 2002. Following the soaps cancellation by ITV in 2003 he guest-starred in several shows such as Holby City before landing his role of Russ Owen in Hollyoaks. Manning joined the cast of the Channel Four soap as a regular in 2004 alongside actor Kevin Sacre who had previously starred with Manning in Night and Day. Manning stayed with Hollyoaks until earlier this year – bowing out after five years.

On his jungle departure he said he was “glad to be out” but equally “disappointed not to be in the last three.”

His exit follows singer Sabrina Washington as the latest to leave the Australian Jungle. Washington left the show on Monday with little fanfare. She had proved to be rather dull – apart from a brief run-in with viewer favourite Kim Woodburn, while former boxer Joe Bugner exited after failing a challenge.

However, fellow contestants Camilla Dallerup, Katie Price and George Hamiltion all left the series of their own accord – quitting the ITV reality show and walking out of the jungle.
