James Mitchell returning to All My Children

Actor James Mitchell is reprising his role of Palmer Cortlandt on ABC soap All My Children for the shows 40th anniversary next year. It’s been over a year since the actor last made his appearance in the daytime soap and his return, even though it’ll be brief, is bound to be welcomed back fans.

ABCIn January ABC soap All My Children will celebrate its 40th anniversary having launched on January 5th 1970 – created by Agnes Nixon who two years earlier had created One Life to Live for ABC as well. To mark the shows 40th anniversary producers have tempted back a string of former cast members for a special two episode event and the latest actor to agree to come back is James Mitchell who played Palmer Cortlandt from 1979 onwards.

James Mitchell has been absent from the soap for over a year having retired from acting earlier this year but the actor has agreed to reprise his role once more for the special two episode event which will air in early January. His characters absent on-screen so far has been explained away as Cortlandt being in Europe to deal with financial difficulties with his company. The actor’s return, even if brief, is bound to be welcomed back fans of the series.
